“Survivor” winner Richard Hatch was arrested Tuesday after he appeared on NBC’s “Today Show.”
Hatch was currently under house arrest for tax evasion.
Roy Lyons, Public Information Officer of the Barnstable County Sheriff's Office in Bourne, Mass., told RadarOnline.com that Hatch was taken back into custody because he violated the terms of his house arrest by doing the interview.
Wednesday on the “Today Show”, Hatch's sister Kristin came to his defense and said that he had received permission to do the interview.
Host Matt Lauer asked if it was a possibility that Hatch was re-arrested for what he said in the interview.
In the segment, Hatch told Lauer that he feels he was sent to prison because of his sexual preference, not for his crime.
Hatch had been serving a four year sentence for neglecting to pay the taxes on his $1 million “Survivor” winnings back in 2006.
