Authorities in Arlington, Texas closed down the Cowboys Stadium on Friday morning following a report of a suspicious package near the Super Bowl XLV site. Arlington Fire Department Lieutenant Pete Arevalo reported to local media agencies that a witness placed a 911 call at approximately 8 a.m. Friday after watching someone tossed a package into a drainage ditch near the north side of the $1.3 million dollar stadium. Officials quickly shut down the stadium and bomb squad personnel responded to the scene following the call.
Officials determined that the suspicious package contained trash and quickly deemed the area safe following inspection. The stadium was reopened shortly after the incident.
