Thomas Jefferson University Finds Hangover Cure

A researcher from the Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, has determined the most effective hangover cure: aspirin and coffee.

Michael Oshinsky, a professor at the University, performed a study of rats. Oshinsky gave the rats alcohol and then measured biochemical functions. Oshinsky determined that ethanol and acetate, substances found in alcohol, cause headaches. Oshinsky induced headaches in the rats with the ethanol, and then dosed them with caffeine and anti-inflammatory medications. The pairing of the caffeine and medicine blocked the acetate and rendered headache relief.
