Thousands Evacuated as Texas Fertilizer Factory Catches Fire

The East Texas town of Bryan witnessed a massive evacuation drive of about 70,000 residents when a fertilizer warehouse caught fire at around 11:45 am Central time.

According to City Manager David Watkins, there have been no major injuries and around 10 people were taken to hospital when they complained of respiratory problems, reported CNN.

The El Dorado Chemical Co. warehouse was sending thick clouds of smoke into the air and it could be seen from miles. No attempts have been made yet to extinguish the blazing flames and firefighters are trying to keep people away from the site.
