Three Dogs Attack Mt. Vernon NY Man

Three large dogs believed to be Rottweilers and/or Pitbulls attacked on an unfortunate Mount Vernon, New York, man on Wednesday evening. Eyewitness Maureen Martin was in her second floor Mount Vernon apartment when she looked out the window and saw her neighbor, Craig Jones, get mauled by the dogs. Martin reported to CBS News: "Another big dog came and they just threw hi on the floor and they were eating the guy." The attack occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m. on East 4th Street. Officials were called on to the scene of the attack and reportedly shot and killed one of the canines after it tried to attack a police officer. The second dog was taken to the Mount Vernon Animal Shelter.

Jones was treated at the Jacobi Medical Center in Bronx, NY, where, as police Captain Edward Adinaro repeated: "He had some pretty significant injuries to his leg area as well as his head." Jones' injuries were described as serious by medics.
