A disaster at Thunder Hole,Maine has killed a 7 year old girl who Coast Guard rescuers were not able to save. I hate to see disasters like this happen and children killed. My heart goes out to the family.
A rogue wave swept 3 people out to sea, according to family they were there visiting on summer vacation. They were from New York.
"The Coast Guard says one of three people swept out to sea by a rogue wave at Acadia National Park in Maine has died.
Officials have not released the name of the 7-year-old girl.
The three who were rescued were part of a large group gathered on the rocks at an area called Thunder Hole around noon when the wave, fueled by Hurricane Bill, struck.
The Coast Guard says the passing storm made the ocean extremely dangerous.
Steve McCausland of the Maine Public Safety Department says the girl's name isn't being released but that she was from New York state.
Eleven other people were injured on the rocks." ~ via
