UFC 111 is set to air on live Saturday, March 27, 2010 at 10:00 p.m. EST. Two titles are set for the cage and up for grabs during the Newark, New Jersey and Pay Per View event held at the Prudential Center. The Ultimate Figher competition will showcase Georges St-Pierre against Dan "The Outlaw Hardy. St-Pierre has been an "unstoppable" UFC force and has held the welterweight title since 2008. St-Pierre is on a six fight winning streak and will assuredly put up a good fight against the British "bomber" Hardy, who just won matches against Marcus Davis and Mike Swick. Fan favorite Thiago Alves was slated to headline the night in a match against St-Pierre but can not compete due to an irregular CAT Scan. A heavyweight title is also up for grabs. Frank Mir and Shane Carwin will compete for the Interim UFC heavyweight championship belt.
The UFC 111 event has sold out though tickets are available at Stubhub. Former UFC greats Chuck Liddell, Matt Serra, and Stephan Bonnar will host a party at Radio City Music Hall in New York City which touts a 70 foot screen for the fight. Tickets for the NYC viewing party are available through Ticketmaster.
