Britain is testing the use of satellites to track speeding motorists. The technology, called "SpeedSpike", measures a car's speed over a fixed distance and can read a license plate in any weather condition, at any time of day. The system is marketed as being a cost-effective alternative to building speed bumps or deploying police to monitor traffic flow.
