After eight seasons on the show, Will FOrte is leaving "Saturday Night Live," PopCrunch.com says.
40-year-old Forte, who starred in and co-wrote the "SNL" spinoff film "MacGruber" this summer, is planning to "pursue other opportunities," Forte's publicist Lewis Kay said on Thursday.
“After eight great seasons, Will has made the decision to move on from SNL to pursue new opportunities. He is eternally grateful to Lorne [Michaels] and all of the incredible people he worked with over the years,” the rep said.
Forte's exit from the show was first reported by The New York Times website.
Forte has starred in many comedy films, including "Baby Mama," "The Slammin Salmon," and "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs." He is also set to guest star on "Parks & Recreation" in the fall.
