In likely the best film news we've heard in a decade, the Rob Marshall directed film adaptation of the Broadway hit Into The Woods is in the works. The stars of the film have been cast with some of Hollywood's brightest stars lighting up the Woods. Though the roles of Jack and Little Red Ridinghood have not been officially cast at this point, rumor has it that Daniel Huttlestone will play Jack and a mystery young woman will play Red.
So far the lineup includes Meryl Streep as the Witch, Johnny Depp as The Wolf, James Cordon as the Baker, Emily Blunt as The Baker's Wife, Anna Kendrick as Cinderella, Chris Pine as Cinderella's Prince, Christine Baranski as Cinderella's mother, Tracey Ullman as Jack's mother, Mackenzie Mauzy as Rapunzel, Billy Magnussen as Rapunzel's Prince, Lucy Punch as Lucinda, and Tammy Blanchard as Florinda.
This high budget, Disney produced film adaptation of the well loved and highly acclaimed musical by Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine will begin filming in the United Kingdom in upcoming weeks.
Expect sheer greatness and a box office smash as the best of Hollywood and the best of Broadway mingle to bring Into the Woods to the silver screen.
