Oregon State University Online

Oregon State University (OSU) is a public research university with its 400-acre main campus located in Corvallis, Oregon. Although founded in 1868, the university traces its roots to 1856 with the founding of the Corvallis State Agricultural College which was later renamed Corvallis College in 1858. It was several years later, on March 1961 to be exact, that the school was finally given its current name of Oregon State University.

A major research university, OSU offers traditional on-campus classes as well as online degree programs via its Extended Campus (ECampus) module. Through the OSU ECampus, busy working individuals are able to pursue their bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degrees wherever they are and at their own desired schedule. Online academic courses are designed with the same high-quality teaching methods and content as their on-campus counterparts. All graduates of the ECampus receive the same OSU diploma as campus-based students.

Oregon State University's online program was included as a top 25 online school in 2011 by The Best Colleges.

OSU is regionally accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU). All online courses offered through the OSU ECampus are handled by OSU faculty members and therefore carry the same content and requirements as on-campus courses. Degree programs offered online include Bachelor’s degrees in various majors like General Agriculture, Economics, Environmental Sciences, Political Science and many more. Graduate degrees and programs offered online include Adult Education & Higher Education Leadership; Teacher & Counselor Education; Radiation Health Physics; Fisheries Management; GIScience; Master of Natural Resources; Management for Science Professionals; Sustainable Natural Resources; and Water Conflict Management.

Tuition cost per credit is US$235 for undergraduate students; US$461 for graduate students except those enrolled in the College of Education CCLP who are charged US$475. Financial aid is available to ECampus students via a need-based grant given to those who qualify.
