This is especially true given the prevailing economic climate wherein you may have to look for a new job more often than you would like. Having your resume always ready can help you find employment faster.

Anyone can write a resume, but not everyone can make sure that the result is professional and effective. Writing a resume that will catch the attention of prospective employers and retain their interest at the same is a skill. There are actually people who make a living out of writing resumes for others!
The good news is that you do not really have to pay someone else to write your resume for you. You could, of course, go that route, but with a little effort, you can put together an effective resume yourself. One of the key things to bear in mind is that resumes should be tailored made to suit the particular industry that you are in. The more specific your resume is, the better it is.

In general, though, there are elements that are critical to writing an effective resume. The first thing that you have to determine is what your goals are exactly. This will be reflected in the Objective section of the resume. What kind of job do you want? What do you want to get out of the job?
Another important element is the Work Experience section. This section will give prospective employers details on the breadth of your experience. It is a good idea to highlight the jobs that are related to the position you are applying for. Also do not forget to include details such as job responsibilities and duties, as well as the inclusive dates.

You also ought to include sections for educational background, trainings attended, certifications (if any), and personal information. This last bit serves to humanize you in the eyes of prospective employers.
