The University of Minnesota, Crookston (UMC) is a four-year, public university located in Cookston, Minnesota. It was established in 1966 as an institute of higher learning and eventually became a University in 1993, when it was authorized to offer baccalaureate degree programs. The university now offers undergraduate degree programs through the departments of Agriculture and Natural Resources; Liberal Arts and Education; Business; and Math, Science and Technology.
The classes of UMC's degree programs are generally held on campus, however, UMC also delivers online classes and degrees through its Center for Adult Learning (CAL). Through UMC's CAL, students are able to complete their online undergraduate degrees in the fields of Accounting, Applied Health, Applied Studies, Business Management, Marketing, Manufacturing Management, Manufacturing Management – Quality Management. In addition, UMC's CAL also offers several non-degree online courses.
UMC's tuition fees range in the $10,000.00 – $11,000.00 per term and usually does not include the cost of books, laboratory fees and other incidental expenses. Financial aid in the form of scholarships, grants, work-study programs and loans are available to eligible students. The University of Minnesota, Crookston has been listed as one of the top four public colleges in the Midwest by US News and World Reports. The University, and its online degrees, are accredted by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
