Virginia College Online

Virginia College is a chain of private, for-profit schools with campuses located mainly in the Southeastern part of the United States. Its first campus was originally established in 1983 by the Atlantis Group, Inc. in Roanoke, Virginia but was purchased in 1989 by Education Futures, Inc. Following the purchase, a new main campus was established in Birmingham, Alabama as well as a branch campus in Huntsville. In 1999, Virginia College was acquired by Education Corporation of America.

Today, there are over 18 Virginia College campuses all throughout Southeastern United States. Accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS), Virginia College remains true to its commitment to provide educational opportunities that will benefit not just its students but the technical and business communities and general citizenry as well. It does this by offering associate’s, bachelor’s and diploma courses in business and business-related fields that prepare students for direct entry into the job market.

In addition to its on-campus degree programs and courses, Virginia College also offers educational opportunities to students anywhere they are via the Internet. Their online school was ranked in the top 25 for 2011. Online college degrees offered by Virginia College include associate’s, bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in accounting, business administration, human resources, information technology (IT), paralegal studies, criminal justice, health care, and more. Online programs allow students and busy working professionals to complete their studies without sacrificing their work or family life.

Tuition costs vary depending on the degree program chosen. Unlike other institutions, Virginia College includes the cost of every textbook for every online course to allow students to plan their expenses well. Financial aid is extended in the form of loans, grants and scholarships to qualified students.
