Cyber Monday is one of the biggest online shopping days of the year.
The term is specifically designated for the Monday immediately succeeding Black
Friday (the day after Thanksgiving) within the United States and other European countries.
The term "Cyber Monday" first came to use in 2005. Dubbed by Shop.org in a press release. The release read: "Seventy seven percent of online retailers said that their sales increased substantially last year on the Monday after Thanksgiving, a trend that is driving serious online discounts and promotions on Cyber Monday
this year ."
Financial experts tallied well over $887 million dollars spent on Cyber Monday in 2009, rendering Cyber Monday the second highest spending day of last year (with Black Friday landing first.)
Cyber Monday usually kicks off enticing sales lasting for 8 days from the last Monday in November until the 1st of December.
