What Percent of Gdp Do Countries Spend on Their Military?

Based on the information printed on the CIA World Factbook, the government spending on the military is extremely huge worldwide. Based on the figures, military spending all over the world is pegged at 741 billion dollars a year. The figure itself is approximately about 1.5% of the world’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of 49,000 billion dollars (or $49 trillion). The United States actually allocates a $277 billion defense budget that, based on the figure stated above, already account for 37 percent of the world’s total.
