Barack Obama is the first African-American President and the 44th President of the United States. His election to the highest seat in the United States was a history that can never be forgotten by any citizen of America. His was an astounding proof that people from all walks of life can make a difference despite the discrimination that black people and other people of colour experience in the hands of the westerners. Barack Obama was raised in a broken family. He was still two years old when his parents separated and he was eventually sent to live with his grandmother. Being in a devastated family coupled with the experience of identity crisis, Barack was admittedly using drugs when he was a teenager to cope with his anxieties. Despite his experiences, he remained steadfast in his dreams. He graduated in Columbia University with a degree in political science with focus on international relations. He met his wife Michelle in their workplace. His political career started when he was elected as Senator in Illinois. He was known for his advocacies in healthcare benefits to low-income families. He was later elected in the US senate and became president of the US in 2009. Aside from his political career, Barack Obama is also a prolific writer.
