Little is known about the life of Shakespeare, aside from the fact that he is considered one of the world’s finest poets and playwrights. His work has been influential in the drama, arts and literatures of the modern times. Shakespeare employed fascinating characters, plots and language writing style that are unique to him alone. He is now referred to as the Master of English Literature whose works were still enjoyed up to the present.
There are however several notes on the life of Shakespeare. It was learned from historical accounts that he was a Christian, based from his record on the church. He has three children but left them to his wife to pursue his career in acting and playwriting. He has sustained his life through the poems and sonnets he wrote. His writing genres were varied; there are comedies, tragedies and romance. Some of his famous works include Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet, Othello, Macbeth, Julius Caesar, King Lear, Timon of Athens and many others. He alos wrote histories and comedies which include Merry Wives of Windsor, Merchant of Venice and many more.
William Shakespeare was considered as England’s national poet with his works consisting of several plays, sonnets and poems that are currently published in different languages around the world. Some of his works may have never been found anymore and some are not complete, but his surviving works are truly a work of a prolific dramatist of his time.
